I first met Soleil and Andriy in October at McKenzie Trails in Red Deer. They had driven down from Calgary for their engagement session, and although the forecast called for rain, we decided to take the chance anyway.

Well… we got absolutely poured on.

It rained for nearly the entire session, but instead of letting it ruin the day, they laughed through it together. Looking back now, I honestly wouldn’t have changed a thing. Those rainy engagement photos became some of my favourites because they captured exactly who they are together, joyful, patient, and completely wrapped up in each other.

A Love You Can’t Help But Notice

I’ve photographed a lot of couples over the years, but every once in a while there’s one that reminds you what quiet, genuine love looks like.

Soleil and Andriy didn’t need to perform for the camera. Their connection was effortless.

During their engagement session, even while we stood in the pouring rain, Andriy’s focus was never on himself. He was constantly making sure Soleil was warm, wrapping his jacket around her, asking if she was okay, and checking to see if she wanted to stop the session.

Those little moments told me everything I needed to know about the kind of partner he is.

When their wedding day arrived, nothing had changed.

The way he looks at Soleil, the gentle way he reaches for her hand, the quiet smiles they share, and the way he constantly checked in on her throughout the day was something so special to witness.

As a photographer, I get a front-row seat to so many love stories, but every now and then there’s a couple that reminds you just how beautiful love can be.

Soleil and Andriy are one of those couples.

A Beautiful Day at Pine & Pond

On July 5th, family and friends gathered at Pine & Pond Wedding Venue to celebrate the beginning of Soleil and Andriy’s next chapter together.

From the emotional ceremony to the laughter shared with their wedding party, every part of the day felt relaxed, joyful, and full of genuine emotion.

Pine & Pond provided the perfect backdrop for their wedding. Surrounded by beautiful trees, peaceful water, and rustic charm, every corner of the venue offered another beautiful place to capture their story.

One of my favourite parts of every wedding day is slowing everything down for a few quiet moments together.

Walking around Pine & Pond with Soleil and Andriy felt effortless. Between the towering trees, rustic buildings, and peaceful waterfront, every location perfectly reflected the calm, romantic feeling of their day.

Some of my favourite photographs came during the quiet moments between poses, the conversations, the laughter, and the way they looked at each other when they thought no one was watching.

Those are always the moments that mean the most.
